For context, I taught the second half of a Discrete Mathematics CS course when the first professor (Shruti Daggumati, who is listed as one of my references) went on leave. There were over 170 students enrolled. No "official" evaluation was created for me, but here I put any comments related to teaching performance given within the final exam: ----- ----- ----- I liked that this course was split up into two with Oleksiy teaching the second half. I like both teachers but having more than one made it interesting. I also liked that all the quizzes and tests where on canvas. ------ I enjoyed the problem solving nature of this course especially the teaching style by both professors this semester. ------ The thing that I liked best about this course was the explanation of Big O notation from the ground up. In CSCE 156 we touched on Big O notation with a focus on how to find it and what it means real-world. In this course, we got an explanation of why it works essentially, and that is great information to know. ------ I liked both instructors (Dr. Bolman and Oleksiy) I thought both of your explanations of topics were effective ------ I liked Oleksy's jokes ------ A lot of the concepts were interesting, and the Instructor kept things somewhat entertaining ------ I would give Oleksiy a promotion hes a great teacher. He explained things in easy to understand examples and related it to other things we were learning. ------ Learning about time complexity, and big-O notation was the best explanation I've heard. ------ I really enjoyed this class because the teachers made it really fun to learn. ------ I really enjoyed the lecture for this course, I worried about the new lecturer, but he was amazing and I was really happy with how he taught. ------ I loved the teaching of Oleksiy Al-Saadi. He was very punny and gave jokes in an otherwise kind of dull class. You did a great job teaching the class. ------ I liked the instructors from this course! ------ I quite enjoyed learning about posets, those graphs were wacky and I loved it ------ I liked the way this course was taught and I enjoyed learning the material from the second half of the semester. I also enjoyed both the professor and our TA's way of teaching. ------ I really enjoyed this course overall, but the best part was definitely Oleksiy's jokes in class. MORE JOKES!!!!!! ------ The humor mixed into the lectures as well as nice professors to help whenever we needed it. ------ The thing I liked about this course is that it is fun and interesting. I like how Dr. Bolman and Oleksiy teach and I am very interested in discrete math. ------ I really liked the teaching style of this class! Both Dr. Bolman and Oleksiy were really engaging in class and actively answered any questions that came up during lectures. I loved their energy and they were always eager to answer or clarify any questions any student had. ------ I liked the professor, he was very funny. Keep up the jokes. I also liked the Master Theorem, it was super duper easy. ------ Oleksiy is amazing, had him last semester as well, great instructor. Dr. Bolman was also missed, very nice and clear with examples in class. ------ I liked the lectures for the course, I think you and Oleksiy have great teaching styles and I liked the format of lecture. ------ Both teachers we had did a good job of presenting the material. ------ I really like the course in general and Oleksiy Al-saadi was a good instructor. ------ I enjoyed the lectures a lot throughout this course. I felt like Dr. Bolman and Oleksiy Al-saadi both cared about my learning. I appreciated this as a student because it sadly does not come across like that often for me. Sorry if "saadi" is supposed to be capitalized, I looked at the syllabus to double check and there it is lowercase so that is what I put. ------ I liked the professors. Both did a wonderful job. ------ I liked both of the teachers. Dr. Bolman and Oleksiy were both very informative and managed to keep class sessions somewhat engaging.
